Sonar is my senior project for the 170 game design series at University of California, Santa Cruz. The game forces the player to use stealth and stay quiet while being blind. The player can navigate using echolocation, allowing the player to see only where they can hear sound, including their own voice through a headset. The player must try to escape the facility they are trapped in while avoiding the deadly, gaseous underground lifeforms named Spectres. The game was nominated for the Design Innovation Award and won the Best Audio award at the 2012 Sammy Awards for University of California, Santa Cruz. Sonar is now finished and can be "seen" and downloaded at the game's website below.

Prom Week is a graduate project from the students in the Expressive Intelligence Studio at University of California, Santa Cruz. Prom Week uses the Artificial Intelligence System named Comme il Faut (CiF) to simulate the world of high school teenagers the week before Prom. It was nominated as a finalist for the Technical Excellence award in the 2012 Independent Games Festival Competition. I had worked on it for most of last school year and over the Summer, focusing mainly on UI coding, authoring, and design. Prom Week is now available to play on Facebook and Kongregate. Below is a link to the information page on the Games and Playable Media Center website.

Babel is a Halo 4 Map created in the Halo 4 Forge Mode. The map was designed to be a symmetrical map with a 4 story tower in the center filled with extra pathways and power weapons on top. The map can be played in any free for all mode, as well as Capture the Flag, Oddball, and King of the Hill. The Capture the Flag game mode is the most unique as one team's flag is on the first floor in the center of the tower where the other team's flag is on the top floor. The link below will lead to a slideshow of the different key points of the map, and a video walkthrough will be available when I find a capture card to make the video. The map is playable through Halo 4 and can be found under Map Variants for the Humantemplar profile on Halo Waypoint.

Mobius is a 2D side scroller created for the Global Game Jam 2012. The theme for this year was the Ouroboros symbol, the snake eating its own tail. To follow this theme, we decided to make a more artistic game that symbolically showed the hardships of life. Players moved through procedurally generated levels while facing their demons before inevitably dieing and - if they obtain the ouroboros - being reborn again to retry their life. For this project I mainly worked on programming and design. Screenshots and the .exe file can be found in the link below.

Within the Darkness is a top down puzzle game created for the Global Game Jam 2011. It was locally voted 3rd among the other participants at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I focused on level design and game design with a small bit of programming involved to manage and form levels. The game is made using Java Processing. More screenshots and the playable game can be found in the website linked below.

Twilight Dreams is an interactive narrative that follows the story of Thomas as he tries to discover the purpose of the dream he is trapped in. The game follows the player through some memorable events and locations in my own dreams. There have been some technical difficulties with the location of the game and the game will be playable when I am able to host it.

Smash is a third person action game created for the Microsoft Wildpockets 2010 Game Jam. The game involves an ogre running around smashing buildings and soldiers. Smash won the Best Art Award and the Best On-site Team Award. I worked mainly on design and programming for the game. The game is playable on the Wildpockets website, sadly the website might be down forever.
